Gloucester Regatta, 24th August

25th August, 2024

On Saturday 24th August, in rainy and grey conditions, Ethan and I rowed our first ever race at Gloucester.

We were racing in the j15 2x category. We were given a ‘by’ in the first round meaning we progressed straight to the semi-finals. We were matched against Hartbury, an opposition stronger than us – but we still figured we had a decent shot. When we got onto the water we had about five minutes before our race and despite a rocky start, we felt we rowed the rest of the race to the best of our ability. It was a great learning experience for both of us; we definitely have areas to improve upon but we are looking forward to our next race and hope next time we will make it to the finals.

Thank you to everyone who came to Gloucester to support us.
